English Renaissance composer William Byrd's (1540-1623) status as an early music superstar owes some credit to the influence of his colleagues. His interaction with other composers from all over Europe influenced his style. This program will highlight musical similarities Byrd shared with some of his contemporaries and will include a world-premiere reconstruction of a piece by Alfonso Ferrabosco (1543-1588). The program will also feature music by Jacob Clemens non Papa (c.1510- c.1555), Thomas Morley (c.1557-1602) and Philip van Wilder (c.1500-1554).

MONTE: Filiae Jerusalem
