About the Ensemble:
Dorian Baroque is a New-York based ensemble of musicians who perform on period instruments, presenting orchestral, chamber and vocal music ranging from the early baroque period to the present. The diverse musical backgrounds of the performers bring a distinct philosophy to music making that is focused on exploring the versatility of historical instruments and led by the principles of the baroque period â opulence, exuberance, dissonance, and ornate grandeur. The orchestra made its debut in June 2012 and will end its inaugural season in a fully-staged opera at the Manhattan School of Musicâs Summer Voice Festival of Claudio Monteverdiâs Lâincoronazione di Poppea - June 2013.
