If you’re working with 18- to 30-year-olds in your ministry, we invite you to join us for our first Episcopal Young Adult and Campus Missions Conference.

Whether you’re on campus or off, just getting started, restarting or wanting to move forward in your ministry, you will find new ideas, new faces, and new resources to inspire you as well as old friends to support and strengthen you in our common work.

This year’s conference will include:

  • Keynote addresses from acclaimed author, speaker and scholar Diana Butler Bass. Diana holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from Duke University and is the author of eight books, including Christianity After Religion: The End of Church and the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening. Her other books include A People's History of Christianity: The Other Side of the Story, nominated for a Library of Virginia literary award, and the best-selling Christianity for the Rest of Us: How the Neighborhood Church is Transforming the Faith, which was named as one of the best religion books of the year by Publishers Weekly and was featured in a cover story in USA TODAY.
  • 6 Minute Insights by ministry leaders and innovators from across the Episcopal Church will highlight a variety of relevant subjects in a dynamic and provocative format including: technology, new ministry models, and ecumenical partnerships.
  • Working groups will offer opportunities for small groups of ministers to share insights, skills and resources with facilitation by ministry leaders. Topics include: Transitioning from Youth Ministry to Young Adult and Campus Ministry, Vocational Discernment with Young Adults, Redefining Mission and Evangelism, and Campus Ministry in the Arc of Lifelong Formation
  • Skill Building sessions will share tangible resources and offer structures and models for direct action. These sessions will be led by experts in the field, including Eric Law of the Kaleidoscope Institute, Tom Brackett of the Episcopal Church Center, Kyle Oliver of Virginia Theological Seminary, and Cameron Partridge of TransEpiscopal.
  • Consultations will allow participants to schedule one-on-one time with ministry leaders to troubleshoot, brainstorm, and work through a variety of individual ministry needs, including board development, new ministry models, communications, technology, and starting an Episcopal Service Corps site.

Check out the links below for a draft schedule and registration. Registration for the Episcopal program takes place through the Shared Space event site. While most of the conference will take place in denominational groups, we will share space with our Lutheran, Presbyterian, and Methodist colleagues for our opening reception, keynotes, and closing worship.

Join us for this great event! We are thankful for your part in the movement to raise up and support young adults and students in our church and as faith leaders in the world, and we look forward to celebrating our common work with you in Chicago!
