Welcomes You

Emmaus Campus Ministry at the University of Montana

The Rev. John Lund
Campus Pastor

We are a Christian student group that runs slightly left of middle on the spectrum of social and religious issues.  We don’t have a lot of  answers to the hard questions, but we love to ask them.  We don’t have a lot of rules to live by, but we talk about what is important in life and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  Mostly we are a community that eats well, laughs a lot, is open with each other, and cares about others and the earth.  We support each other, grow together in our spiritual life, become good friends, and have a lot of fun.  We all try to figure out what our own calling is in life; that place where our own gifts and passions meet the greater needs of the world.  We give space for soul-tending and personal growth within the rhythms of school, work and everything else.

We are not all of like mind;  some of us are firm believers, some are doubters, some come for the good food.  We don’t care.  All are welcome - no matter what.  Maybe you don’t trust organized religion.  Maybe you are of the “spiritual but not religious” ranks.  Maybe you are gay or lesbian.  Maybe you don’t believe Christians have the only path to God.  In any case, you will fit right in. We would love to have you join us anytime.

Pastor John is around the Ark or at Emmaus house during the week.  If you have questions or life issues around family, a relationship, grief, depression, sexuality, feeling lost, or whatever, he offers non-judgmental listening and pastoral care.  We also have trained and compassionate peer ministers who are here to listen, support and walk with other students through difficult times.
