About Us:

We proclaim Christ crucified and risen, and invite you to join with us in ministry together in his name.

St. James Episcopal Church is a place to grow spiritually, a place to make new friends, a place to serve God with your own special talents. For over 150 years, St. James has continued its mission of service to members of the parish and the greater community of our neighborhood, the city and the world. Whether you are searching for a new church home from another Christian faith, are new to Baton Rouge and seeking an Episcopal Church, or elsewhere on your faith journey, we invite you to join us in worship and fellowship.

St. James is located in downtown Baton Rouge on Convention at N. Fourth Street. You will appreciate the spiritual atmosphere of our historic English Gothic Revival church. Free parking is available across the street, and our professionally staffed nursery for infants and toddlers is open during the Sunday morning services, but children are equally welcome at all our services.

Read more about St. James here, or check the map located here. You can reach a real person by emailing church at stjamesbr.org. Christian Education classes for all ages are offered at 10:00 a.m. Or, join us for "coffee hour" fellowship in the Parish Hall parlor, following any of the morning services.

Visitors are always welcome at St. James, where we are steeped in tradition, but not mired in it.
