Job Description

Episcopal Life in print and online is an integrated system of web, print and broadcast communication resources serving Episcopalians, seekers and observers. Print and online include Episcopal Life, a church wide publication that reaches into more than 250,000 homes each month, and the Episcopal Life Online website, averaging one million visits per month. Other resources include digital media and multimedia productions.

The Advertising Representative sells print and electronic ads and sponsorships to advertisers directly and through their agencies. Working with other staff, the incumbent is responsible for increasing the budgeted newspaper advertising revenue and developing new revenue streams. The incumbent introduces new vehicles to new and existing advertises and works to retain existing advertisers in all media including periodicals, online banner ads, newspaper supplements and customized publications.

Job Requirements

Essential Job Requirements:

• Increase newspaper advertising to meet then exceed budget.
• Develop new revenue sources.
• Complete monthly sales reports
• Produce and mail monthly invoices, tear sheets and checking copies to each advertiser.
• Maintain a continually updated filing system of advertiser information.
• Follow-up on overdue accounts.
• Advertising Service: Initial monthly layout of pages and advertising production. Complete production of Marketplace and Classified sections of the newspaper. Collection, preparation and posting of copy for art department’s issue design.
• Advertising Promotion: Work with the General Manager to conceive, develop and implement an ad campaign strategy.
• Advertising Promotion: Research.
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:

Required

• Business English skills sufficient to compose correspondence and write reports.
• Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
• Four year college degree
• Two years advertising sales experience
• Five years full time work experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred

• Digital and print sales experience
• Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and PageMaker
• Acquaintance with the structure of The Episcopal Church
