Lesson Plans

Designed to follow the Revised Common Lectionary, these lesson plans are written by experienced church school teachers using practical approaches to respond to the needs of volunteer teachers. Both a lesson plan for young children and a lesson plan for older children are offered each week, and intergenerational lesson plans are available for many major feast days throughout the liturgical year. These lesson plans can be used as written, or they are easy to adapt to reflect the context of your congregation's children's program. For more information, please contact Ruth-Ann Collins, officer for Adult Formation/Lifelong Learning.

My kingdom is not of this world. My kingdom is not won in a battle. Clearly, the kingdom Jesus offers comes a very different way than we expected. Jesus refuses violence. Instead, he speaks the truth and waits for ordinary people to...

The question from the disciples this week is not meant to be one to challenge or trip Jesus up.  Rather, it is common in Jewish tradition to ask if there is a way to summarize commandments. Jesus, in turn, gives a rather traditional...

We step aside from the flow of the propers and celebrate all the saints. We stop. We notice. We are surrounded by a flock of witnesses in our midst -- many who have gone before us, some we are just now releasing, and still more with a...
