The Office for Ministry Development (OMD) assists leaders to invigorate the ministry of God’s people –in daily life and within the Episcopal Church. The goal is to expand the capacity of the Church for effective and transformative mission in response to the Baptismal Covenant and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
OMD’s wide range of initiatives emerge and are shaped through collaboration with:
- ministry development specialists
- leaders in theological education
- commissions on ministry
- health and wellness programs for church professionals
- vocational associations
- ecumenical partners
- and others…
In addition the staff provides support to the Standing Commission on Ministry Development which was created by General Convention to explore and make recommendations regarding policy issues.
