Severe Storms Hit United States
6/7/2004
  [ERD]

Tornadoes, heavy rains, flooding, and severe weather continue pounding states across the United States. On Saturday, at least six tornadoes struck Kansas and strong winds and hail battered parts of Missouri. Severe thunderstorms also hit Michigan and Indiana. In Kentucky and West Virginia, new damage was sustained after severe storms and heavy rain occurred in both states for the second time in less than two weeks. In Texas, rain, high wind gusts, and thunderstorms caused flooding in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, leaving thousands without power, and downpours flooded Houston streets. Severe weather also caused damage in Illinois and Colorado.

Our staff is in contact with the Dioceses of Dallas, Ft. Worth, Quincy, and Colorado and will continue to monitor developments. We stand ready to respond and provide emergency assistance as needs are identified.

Please continue to pray for people in the midst of these severe storms.
