Presiding Bishop in Armenia The Presiding Bishop was received by government officials, including the second ranking member of the Armenian government. The Presiding Bishop was received by Artur Baghdassaryan, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia who spoke about the importance of partnerships between Christian churches, particularly in places such as Armenia which are largely surrounded by the Muslim world. The Chairman is shown here presenting a welcome gift. Bishop Griswold and his party also visited the newly opened American Embassy to meet with Ambassador John Evans, incidentally an Episcopalian, who described how the embassy aims to be a resource to the host country with cultural exhibits and computer training among its services.
