Episcopal Relief and Development Prays for People Affected by Hurricane Isabel
9/22/2003

Episcopal Relief and Development is in contact with the Dioceses of East Carolina, Virginia, Southern Virginia, and Washington following Hurricane Isabel. The eye of the hurricane struck the coast of North Carolina on Thursday. The deadly storm caused heavy damage and flooding in North Carolina and Virginia and also hit areas along the eastern U.S. including Washington, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Many communities remain without power.

ERD prays for people affected by the hurricane. We are currently assessing the needs of the dioceses and stand ready to respond.

To help people affected by natural disasters, log on to our website at http://www.er-d.org/ or call (800) 334-7626, ext. 5129.

How ERD is making a difference...

Countries
We lift communities out of poverty around the world in areas such as Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. We partner with local organizations in the Anglican Communion to ensure vulnerable people have healthy food to eat and get proper health care.

Domestic
We provide critical supplies to people through local dioceses after natural and human-made disasters. We partner with the dioceses to get life-saving aid to children and their families and stay with communities after the crisis to provide ongoing support.
