Grant Goes to Diocese of West Texas Following Floods

Posted: 7/12/2002

Episcopal Relief and Development has awarded a $25,000 emergency grant to the Diocese of West Texas following heavy flooding throughout various regions of Texas. Flooding throughout the state has caused severe damage to homes, businesses, and other properties. Twenty-four counties have been declared disaster regions. The funds will go towards emergency food relief for both flood victims and clean-up workers, home repairs, clothing and cleaning supplies. The funds will also aid the efforts of community and ecumenical relief organizations in their outreach to indigent flood victims.

How ERD is making a difference...

Countries
We lift communities out of poverty around the world in areas such as Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. We partner with local organizations in the Anglican Communion to ensure vulnerable people have healthy food to eat and get proper health care.

Domestic
We provide critical supplies to people through local dioceses after natural and human-made disasters. We partner with the dioceses to get life-saving aid to children and their families and stay with communities after the crisis to provide ongoing support.
