Re: Travel Policy Province VII Youth Network
As per a request from the Province VII Council, the Youth Network of this Province has set a mandatory travel policy regarding any trips made to a network meeting, with a youth representative.
Each Diocese is allotted one adult and one youth to the Provincial Youth Network. The adult representative must meet all requirements set forth by their Diocese, regarding “Safeguarding God’s Children” and background checks.
If for some reason the adult member cannot be present at a meeting, first they must notify their Bishop that they will not attend; and secondly, they must provide to the Network Chair the name of the adult that is to present that Diocese. This person will have to be approved by the Bishop of that Diocese.
No youth, under any circumstances, may be allowed to travel to the event alone. They may be placed in transportation by their parent or guardian, if they are to meet their adult representative in the flight schedule. They must be met at the end of their flight by the adult from their diocese in accordance with “Safeguarding God’s Children.”
Each adult on the Network is responsible to chaperone their youth representative throughout the entire length of the meeting schedule.
Each adult should have in their possession upon arrival at the meeting, a signed medical release form, from the youth representatives’ parents or guardian. A standard form that is used from each diocese is acceptable.
