The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Rowan Douglas Williams (1950- ) is the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury.
Why Williams?
“I am always impressed by his ‘dynamic orthodoxy.’ He has a great understanding of and love for the core doctrines of our faith, and yet he is not afraid (in his thoughtful way) to put them to the test and see how they can best be understood in our current cultural contexts.”– Joe, Director of Christian Formation, Ohio
“In 2002, Rowan Williams was chosen to be the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury, the ‘first among equals’ in the Anglican Communion. Less than a year into his time in that position, events in the USA and Canadian branches of the Anglican Communion forced him to make some difficult decisions. Despite vigorous arm twisting by certain parties, Archbishop Williams has been a voice for unity in the Anglican Communion.”–College student, Pennsylvania

One of Rowan Williams’ favorite TV shows is “The Simpsons.” Adherents.com has a page of religious affiliations of comic book characters and they say Batman is an Episcopalian. Cowabunga, dude!
