Vietnam Veterans Highway Walk

Saturday, March 23, 2013 to Friday, March 29, 2013

In 2012 President Obama and Governor Susanna Martinez of New Mexico designated the last days of March to honor Vietnam Veterans.  This year we are hosting a march along the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highways (371) from Thoreau to the Farmington area.

Chapter Houses and Veterans groups along the route are sponsoring various aspects of the walk. …the Festival Celebration at the end of the walk on March 30…will provide an opportunity for public officials to speak, Veterans to address the assembly regarding the challenges they face, and celebrate successful ways veterans have reintegrated upon returning home.

The Episcopal Church in Navajoland, through Bishop David E. Bailey, is sponsoring the printing and promotional material, providing tents for the Festival Celebration and hosting the walkers on the final evening.
