Amen.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Old Testament:\u00a0<\/strong>Isaiah 61:10-62:3<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>10<\/sup>I will greatly rejoice in the\u00a0Lord, my whole being shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.\u00a0<sup>11<\/sup>For as the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord\u00a0God\u00a0will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>For Zion\u2019s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem\u2019s sake I will not rest, until her vindication shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning torch.\u00a0<sup>2<\/sup>The nations shall see your vindication, and all the kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0will give.\u00a0<sup>3<\/sup>You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the\u00a0Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Psalm:<\/strong> 147 or 147:13-21<\/p>\n\n<p>[<sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0Hallelujah!<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0How good it is to sing praises to our God! *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0how pleasant it is to honor him with praise!<br\/><sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0rebuilds Jerusalem; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he gathers the exiles of Israel.<br\/><sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0He heals the brokenhearted *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and binds up their wounds.<br\/><sup>4<\/sup>\u00a0He counts the number of the stars *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and calls them all by their names.<br\/><sup>5<\/sup>\u00a0Great is our\u00a0Lord\u00a0and mighty in power; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0there is no limit to his wisdom.<br\/><sup>6<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0lifts up the lowly, *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0but casts the wicked to the ground.<br\/><sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0Sing to the\u00a0Lord\u00a0with thanksgiving; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0make music to our God upon the harp.<br\/><sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0He covers the heavens with clouds *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and prepares rain for the earth;<br\/><sup>9<\/sup>\u00a0He makes grass to grow upon the mountains *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and green plants to serve mankind.<br\/><sup>10<\/sup>\u00a0He provides food for flocks and herds *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and for the young ravens when they cry.<br\/><sup>11<\/sup>\u00a0He is not impressed by the might of a horse; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he has no pleasure in the strength of a man;<br\/><sup>12<\/sup>\u00a0But the\u00a0Lord\u00a0has pleasure in those who fear him, *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0in those who await his gracious favor.]<br\/><sup>13<\/sup>\u00a0Worship the\u00a0Lord, O Jerusalem; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0praise your God, O Zion;<br\/><sup>14<\/sup>\u00a0For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he has blessed your children within you.<br\/><sup>15<\/sup>\u00a0He has established peace on your borders; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he satisfies you with the finest wheat.<br\/><sup>16<\/sup>\u00a0He sends out his command to the earth, *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and his word runs very swiftly.<br\/><sup>17<\/sup>\u00a0He gives snow like wool; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he scatters hoarfrost like ashes.<br\/><sup>18<\/sup>\u00a0He scatters his hail like bread crumbs; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0who can stand against his cold?<br\/><sup>19<\/sup>\u00a0He sends forth his word and melts them; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0he blows with his wind, and the waters flow.<br\/><sup>20<\/sup>\u00a0He declares his word to Jacob, *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0his statutes and his judgments to Israel.<br\/><sup>21<\/sup>\u00a0He has not done so to any other nation; *<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0to them he has not revealed his judgments.<br\/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Hallelujah!<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Epistle:<\/strong>\u00a0Galatians 3:23-25;4:4-7<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>23<\/sup>Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed.\u00a0<sup>24<\/sup>Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith.\u00a0<sup>25<\/sup>But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian,\u00a0<sup>4<\/sup>But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,\u00a0<sup>5<\/sup>in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children.\u00a0<sup>6<\/sup>And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, \u201cAbba! Father!\u201d<sup>7<\/sup>So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Gospel:<\/strong>\u00a0John 1:1-18<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.\u00a0<sup>2<\/sup>He was in the beginning with God.\u00a0<sup>3<\/sup>All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being\u00a0<sup>4<\/sup>in him was life, and the life was the light of all people.<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>5<\/sup>The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.<sup>6<\/sup>There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.\u00a0<sup>7<\/sup>He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.\u00a0<sup>8<\/sup>He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light.\u00a0<sup>9<\/sup>The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.\u00a0<sup>10<\/sup>He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him.\u00a0<sup>11<\/sup>He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.\u00a0<sup>12<\/sup>But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God,\u00a0<sup>13<\/sup>who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God.\u00a0<sup>14<\/sup>And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father\u2019s only son, full of grace and truth.<\/p>\n\n<p><sup>15<\/sup>(John testified to him and cried out, \u201cThis was he of whom I said, \u2018He who comes after me ranks ahead of me because he was before me.\u2019\u201d)<sup>16<\/sup>From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.\u00a0<sup>17<\/sup>The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.\u00a0<sup>18<\/sup>No one has ever seen God.
