Today we continue our Advent journey. Advent is a time when we prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. During Advent, we reflect on the hope, peace, and joy that come with the birth of Christ. We prepare ourselves for the coming of the light that will help bring God\u2019s kingdom to earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Testament Lesson Plans: Do Not Be Afraid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Scripture: Luke 1:26-38<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Advent means \u201ccoming.\u201d The coming of the baby Jesus, God among us in human flesh. The coming of Christ again \u201cthe Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. In between those two great comings is God\u2019s constant longing for each of us to come to God, to love God, and to let God love us. \u201cBe alert.\u201d Notice. Listen. Watch. For what? For the ways God will choose to get our attention this season. For those moments when we notice that our ways are not in alignment with God\u2019s ways. For those shimmering glimpses of the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
