Bishop Barbara Harris served as Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Massachusetts from 1989-2002, having been ordained as the first woman bishop in the Anglican Communion.  She served as assisting bishop in the Diocese of Washington (D.C.) from 2003-2007. Today, she is assisting bishop at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston.
Prior to her episcopal ordination, Bishop Harris was a businesswoman, participant in the civil rights movement, and parish priest in Pennsylvania.
• On Saturday, May 13, Bp. Harris will share her story and answer questions at a reception at Christ Church & San Marcos, Tarrytown.
