Students from around the world can register for a fully-online Inquirers Class in the Episcopal Tradition to begin February 11, 2018. Sacramentum is an experience of sacred community exploring Jesus and his teachings. It's a fully online, live course taught in real time, designed to help students go deeper into the mystery of Christ through the lens of the Episcopal tradition.
This weekly, 7-session course (Sundays, February 11-March 25, 7-830p EST) is designed for those who want to know more about Jesus, including long-time believers seeking to deepen their faith, as well as those preparing for baptism, confirmation, reception into the Episcopal Church, and reaffirmation of baptismal vows. It's taught in English and is open to anyone in the world.
Instructors include Bishop Ian Douglas (CT), Lisa Kimball (Virginia Theological Seminary), Scott Gunn (Forward Movement) and others. “It’s an amazing cadre of talented teachers,” said. Chris Yaw, Founder of ChurchNext, “Students are in for a holy and blessed experience of community and learning.”
Each class is 90 min, includes preparation and homework, and is designed for those for whom traditional courses of this kind are unavailable or inconvenient. It costs $99. Scholarships are available. Students take the course individually or as part of a group. The course seeks to work in conjunction with church leaders looking for a substantial preparation experience for their students. Sacramentum partners and advisors include Forward Movement, FORMA, and the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at Virginia Theological Seminary.
