Mark your calendars for an important Diocese of Atlanta event!
The Commission on Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking for the Diocese is sponsoring a “SOAP UP Atlanta” event a week before Super Bowl on January 26, 2019 from 9:30am to 3pm. Volunteers will be educated by a DMST victim, Theresa Flores, on the second largest crime after drugs that takes the lives of our children and makes them a product to be used over and over again.
As a first step, won’t you join with other parishes to help end this disgrace? Atlanta is in the top five in the nation as over 7000 men a month purchase under-aged sex in GA and most are north of 285.
We will gather at All Saints Episcopal church at 9:30am – 3pm and be trained on DMST before we head out to the hotels surrounding the Mercedes Benz stadium. We will label SOAP with the National Hot Line number in the morning and deliver the soap to be distributed in the hotel’s bathrooms and public spaces in the afternoon.
You must be registered to attend. Please sign up on the EventBrite site by clicking here https://tinyurl.com/supersoap2018 or go the Diocesan’s web site under Mission Work for more information and join from there.
