In 2015, the United Thank Offering Board, through a grant to the Global Partnership Office began an internship program for young adults. This program supports the work of the United Thank Offering in addition to participating in the work of a local ministry.
The 2017-2018 internship will be in conjunction with MVNG, Inc. (Missional Voices), located in Houston, Texas. Houston, the largest city in Texas, is home to several innovative ministries and the offices of the Diocese of Texas. As a part of your work with MVNG, you will assist with the development, organization, and marketing of the 2018 National Gathering (scheduled for April 19-21, 2018, in Indianapolis, Ind.) and other MVNG resources. Additionally, you may be involved in the development of peer networking groups for innovative ministry practitioners (working in conjunction with UTO and Virginia Theological Seminary). In addition to your work with MVNG, you’ll attend UTO Board meetings and travel to speak at public events regarding your work with UTO.
Applicants will need to be comfortable with public speaking, travel, and show a willingness to participate on a team. Applicants will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; collaboration software such as Slack, Google Drive, and Zoom; and social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The internship includes: housing, insurance, travel costs, a stipend and intentional mentoring and begins on September 1, 2017.
