5th Mark of Mission

To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

Engaging Environmental Mission at the Local Level

  • To develop an inventory of the assets of all Episcopal camps and conference centers with a triennial goal of developing a program offering ecological and environmental program work
  • To create at least two two-year environmental justice fellowships
  • To work with the ELCA to start 12 new state public policy networks

Disscusion Questions:

  1. What are the biggest ecological challenges that we face in our home area/region? How effectively are we addressing those?
  2. This Convention has intentionally been organized to be a much “greener” one than in the past. What have we experienced here that could prove helpful back in the diocese?
  3. How can we help people around us see Jesus more clearly through our work in renewing the life of the earth?
