The Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi has received notification from the Presiding Bishop’s Office that Bishop-elect Dorothy Sanders Wells has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3. The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, registrar of the General Convention.
In giving consent to her ordination and consecration, standing committees and bishops exercising jurisdiction in The Episcopal Church attest to knowing of “no impediment on account of which” Bishop-elect Wells ought not to be ordained as bishop, and that her election was conducted in accordance with the canons.
Wells was elected bishop on Feb. 3. Her consecration and ordination service is scheduled for July 20.

La Diocesis Episcopal de Misisipí ha recibido una notificación del Oficina del Obispo Primado de que el obispa electa Dorothy Sanders Wells ha recibido la mayoría de consentimientos requerida en el proceso de consentimiento canónico que se detalla en el Canon III.11.3. Al dar su consentimiento para su ordenación y consagración, los comités permanentes y de los obispos que ejercen jurisdicción en la Iglesia Episcopal atestiguan que no conocen “ningún impedimento por el cual” el obispa electa Wells no deba ser ordenado como obispa y que su elección se realizó de conformidad con los cánones.
Wells fue elegido obispa diocesana el 3 de febrero. Su servicio de consagración y ordenación será el 20 de julio.
