This webinar, recorded January 8, 2021, is part of a set of materials for Sacred Ground Facilitators.
This month’s offering is a panel discussion on “Episcopalians of Color: Exploring Sacred Ground Best Practices,” moderated by the Rev. Valerie Mayo, a lead consultant on a Sacred Ground partnership with the Union of Black Episcopalians. We learn about case studies and lessons from interracial circles as well as from two partnered dioceses that created accountability processes and a new pledge of faith and action against racial injustice.
Panelists included the Rev. Dr. Mauricio Wilson, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Oakland, Diocese of California, Emily Sityar, a parishioner at Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville, in the Diocese of Western New York, and the Rev. Duncan Burns, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Huntington, in the Diocese of Long Island.
