“In early 2024 we experimented with a chanted Compline service. In July, the alto in our quartet had to find a last-minute sub, who turned out to be a non-binary person with deep and ambivalent roots in the Episcopal church. We just created an artist residency to support them as they medically transition using testosterone, and as they develop a performance piece called ONE BODY, about growing up as a trans singer in the church, and about queer becoming as a sign of the coming reign of God.” – The Rev.
