In general, avoid acronyms. If it is necessary to use an acronym, spell it out on first usage and supply the acronym in parentheses: Episcopal Youth Event (EYE). Note: Do not use acronyms in formal communication for Episcopal Relief & Development or The Episcopal Church. See also headlines
