Updates from the UTO Finance and Archives Committee
Happy January! Thank you to everyone who made a year-end donation to UTO or made sure that checks were sent before the deadline. All of that helps so much with getting our final Ingathering reports together. With that said, we want to remind you of a couple of things:
- Please note that the Finance Department at The Episcopal Church Center is switching systems between 2025 and 2026. This means that things should be faster and easier in the future but might be a little slower with final reports from 2025. Please be patient with us! Heather will send out information as soon as it is available.
- Acknowledgement postcards for November will be sent in January, and for December by early February, so if you gave in either of those months and are wondering where your card is, it is on the way!
- If you would like to receive an accounting of donations to your diocese or parish, please fill out this form. Please note that individual donor information is removed for privacy purposes.
- If you donated as an individual and would like a year-end letter for your taxes emailed to you, please fill out this form.
- Our annual report is in the works and will be available once the final financial reports are available. That will be released first via this newsletter, so be on the lookout.
Finally, a few reminders as we begin new year of fundraising for UTO grants.
- Please send all checks to the address in St. Louis. Mail that is sent to New York has to be sent to New Mexico and then to St. Louis, which means the chances of your check getting lost are not insignificant. In fact, if you donated with a check sent to New York in the fall of 2025, that check may have been lost in the mail when forwarded to New Mexico. Please make sure your UTO checks cleared if you sent them to New York (you should also have received a letter from Heather asking you to no longer use that address); if not, please cancel that check and reissue it but send it to St. Louis.
- Please send funds within a few weeks of your Ingathering. This allows our account to gain interest on those funds, and we do grant that interest every year. Most years we raise almost the totality of one grant via interest alone.
- Have questions or need help? Let us know! We are all here to help you and learn from you. If you have an idea that would make things easier for you in your parish or diocese, we’d love to try it out as it might also help others.
Thank you for your ongoing support of UTO. It is because of your gratitude, generosity, and dedication to this ministry that we are able to change the lives of people around the globe. Thank you so much!
