By Rowan Larson (they/them), Vice President for Grants
If you weren’t able to join us for the annual Virtual Training Day on June 7 but are interested in applying for a grant in 2026, fear not! Our newly revised “helpful hints” and videos are available on the UTO grant website. This year, instead of one “helpful hints” sheet, we broke it down by topic to be, well, as helpful as possible!
One item to highlight is that this year, an additional piece is required to apply. It’s called the “Community Partner Form”—since this year’s focus requires working together with a community that is different from yours, we want to hear briefly from a leader or representative of that community to ensure that you are actually talking about working together in reality and not just saying so on paper.
If you still have questions, great! Bring it on! We love questions at UTO, as we strive to be a clear, kind, inclusive grant process for all applicants. This includes our innovative dual-deadline system that allows all applicants to have their packet reviewed by UTO staff before final submission, as well as grant application office hours, our helpful hints and videos, and more!
We can’t wait to see what amazing ideas you have for projects in 2026!
