By Christopher McNabb Episcopal Migration Ministries has resettled more than 100,000 refugees and asylum seekers, helping them to find a home and find hope. I still remember my very first diocesan convention as a new Episcopalian. It was in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey had welcomed Presiding Bishop Michael…

By Myra Garnes As the school and ministry year begins, parents and adults of all generations face the challenge of preparing children for more than just academic success. In a world where political tensions, racism, xenophobia, a climate crisis, sexism, homophobia, and classism are prominent, teaching kindness and fostering a sense of beloved community is…

By Miguel Bustos As the season of Christmas approaches, we are reminded of the profound hope and light brought into the world through the birth of Christ. By Mike Wallens Imagine being forced from your home, your community, as a refugee, an asylum seeker, or forced from your home by fire and violence. Imagine not knowing what will happen and if you will be welcomed into a new space to be safe.  Imagine Jesus, Mary, and Joseph fleeing from their home. What’s…

By Yamily Bass-Choate I am a Hispanic Latina woman, but that was not the way I always saw myself.  I grew up in Colombia, South America, and came to the United States for college. I had planned to stay for a few years and then return. My plans changed, and I began to plant my…

By Shaneequa Brokenleg At the end of January, I was able to attend Winter Talk, a gathering of Indigenous Episcopalians and folks serving in Indigenous ministry. In this sacred space, we were able to gather as people who are sometimes overlooked by the world…but never by God. As we listened and learned, I was reminded of…
