I would invite the Latino communities I love to celebrate our spirituality as a common denominator that allows us in this…

By Shaneequa Brokenleg, staff officer for racial reconciliation Summer is upon us, and the whirlwind of General Convention is over. Every three years, we—bishops, clergy, lay delegates, staff, exhibitors, and observers—meet as a church, and this was my first time experiencing it in a formal way. The Union of Black Episcopalians’ meeting and conference was a great way…

By the Rev. Melanie Mullen What does love mean to you? “Love is what justice looks like in public,” and seeing Episcopalians doing ministry of repairing the breach and proclaiming the dream of God’s Kingdom on Earth showed me how true that phrase is.  Where did you see God in this festival?  I saw God…

By the Rev. Phil Hooper Like many closeted young people, when I was a teenager, I would pray to God to make me anything other than who I was. The world around me said that being gay was a fracture in my soul that had to be sealed up; a distortion that had to be…

Puahala As part of Indigenous People’s Month, we wanted to share this story of an Indigenous Anglican: “Our Queen’s Story.”  Ke Welina me ke Aloha a me Nana i ke kumu (Greetings with much affection and encourages us to look to our ancestors, to nature, and to God for guidance, help and love.)  Queen…

By The Rev. Kelly Kirby The word “Becoming” is key in the phrase “Becoming the Beloved Community.” When we applied for a seed grant in 2019, we had a vision for comprehensive, dismantling racism work that would take place over three years. Despite the setbacks we experienced due to the pandemic, our diocese has uncovered many…
