- On the second full day of the 2023 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) in College Park, Maryland, participants heard from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry (pictured below) at the morning worship service, which focused on the theme of “celebration.” Preaching from the book of Esther, Curry told attendees, “We need some Esthers today. Perhaps you, EYE, were born and raised for such a time as this! … The Lord has put you here to do what the prophet Micah said: ‘What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love, mercy, and walk humbly with your God.’ You are not here by accident. You are here for divine purpose. You are here to help God realize God’s dream.”
