General Convention Official Youth Presence

The 67th General Convention of The Episcopal Church in 1982 resolved that “a youth presence” should be invited to all future conventions. The Official Youth Presence comprises up to two young people from each of the church’s nine provinces who go through a rigorous application and training process. They have seat and voice on the floor of the House of Deputies during General Convention and can testify at hearings held before and during the triennial church legislative gathering.

The voices and perspectives of the Official Youth Presence are an invaluable part of the church’s work as we focus on current concerns and look toward the future.
