Lima Eucharistic Liturgy, The
A liturgy developed by Max Thurion of the Taizé community. At the meeting of the Faith and Order Commission in Lima, Peru, in 1982, some revisions were made, and the liturgy was used for the first time on Jan. 15, 1982, with J. Robert Wright, an Episcopal priest, as the celebrant. It embodies the eucharistic theology of Baptism, Eucharist, and Ministry (1982). The General Convention of 1985 authorized its use provided an ordained priest of the Episcopal Church is the celebrant, or one of the celebrants at a concelebrated service of ecumenical worship.
