Liturgy of the Eucharist

The second half of the eucharistic service, from the offertory to the end of the eucharistic rite. It is also known as the liturgy of the table. It is named the Holy Communion in the BCP (p. 361). It follows the liturgy of the word. The liturgy of the eucharist includes the Great Thanksgiving, the breaking of the bread, the ministration of communion, the postcommunion prayer, the blessing (if used), and the dismissal. The term may also be applied loosely to the entire eucharistic service.
