Nuptial Mass, or Nuptial Eucharist

Eucharist celebrated at a marriage. The service for the Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage is the liturgy of the word. The eucharist begins with the offertory. Any authorized liturgy for the eucharist may be used (BCP, p. 437). At the offertory, the bride and groom may present the bread and wine for the eucharist. They may remain before the altar and receive communion before other members of the congregation (BCP, p. 438). The BCP provides a proper preface and a special postcommunion prayer for this service (pp. 381, 432). See Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage.
