Advent Reflections

Luke 3:4-6
“The voice of one crying out in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord,
    make his paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled,
    and every mountain and hill shall be made low,
and the crooked shall be made straight,
    and the rough ways made smooth;
and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

In our communities, what are the rough ways that need to be made smooth? How are each of us, members of the Jesus Movement, working to make the rough ways smooth?

Episcopal Service Corps (ESC) is an opportunity for young adults to help make the rough ways smooth, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to witness to the love, justice, and truth of God with their lips, their lives, and their work. ESC is in more than 25 communities across the United States, offering opportunities for young adults, 19-31 to spend a year serving others, promoting justice, living simply in intentional community, and discerning God’s vocational call.
