The Episcopal Church announces the opening of applications for Conant Grants for the 2022-2023 academic year. The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 3; recipients will be announced in early 2022.

Information, instructions, and the application are available online.

Conant Grant funds are designated for the improvement of seminary-based theological education. Specifically, the grants are directed for the support of research, writing, and course development by faculty members at the recognized Episcopal seminaries in the United States.

The grant awards are derived from a trust fund established by William Schubael Conant in 1953. In 2021-22, The Episcopal Church awarded 13 Conant Grants for a total of $123,108.

Please note that those who were awarded grants in 2021 and have either deferred or not completed the projects will not be eligible for an award in 2022.

For more information, contact Ann Hercules, associate for Ministry Beyond The Episcopal Church and Grants.

With the assistance of Hercules, applications will be reviewed by the Conant Trust Grant Review Committee members: the Rt. Rev. Brian Thom; the Rev. Canon Anne Kitch; Canon Steven Nishibayshi; and the Rt. Rev. Dabney Smith.
