Diocese of Oregon notified of successful canonical consent process

The Episcopal Diocese of Oregon has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry and Registrar of General Convention, the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, that Bishop-Elect Diana Akiyama has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3.

In giving consent to her ordination and consecration, Standing Committees and bishops with jurisdiction attest to knowing of “no impediment on account of which” Bishop-Elect Akiyama ought not to be ordained as bishop, and that her election was conducted in accordance with the Canons.

The Rev. Dr. Diana Akiyama was elected Bishop Diocesan on August 29, 2020.

La Diócesis de Oregón notificada del exitoso proceso de consentimiento canónico

La Diócesis Episcopal de Oregón recibió una notificación del Obispo Presidente y Primado Michael B. Curry y del Registrador de la Convención General, el Reverendo Canónigo Michael Barlowe, de que la Obispa Electa Diana Akiyama recibió la mayoría requerida de consentimientos en el proceso de consentimiento canónico detallado en el Canon III.11.3.
 
Al dar el consentimiento a su ordenación y consagración, los Comités Permanentes y los obispos con jurisdicción dan fe de saber que “no hay impedimento por el cual” la Obispa Electa Diana Akiyama no deba ser ordenada obispa, y que su elección se realizó de acuerdo con los cánones.
