Episcopal Diocese of Dallas notified of successful canonical consent process

The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that a majority of both the various diocesan standing committees and the bishops exercising jurisdiction in The Episcopal Church have consented to the reception of the Rt. Rev. Fraser Wynn Lawton as a bishop of The Episcopal Church—and to his appointment as an assistant bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, per Canon III.12.5(b)(3)(ix). The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, registrar of the General Convention.

Bishop Lawton is the resigned bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Athabasca in the Anglican Church of Canada. He serves in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas as rector of The Church of St. Dunstan and as assisting bishop.

La Diócesis Episcopal de Dallas recibió la notificación del Obispo Presidente y Primado Michael B. Curry de que la mayoría de los distintos comités permanentes diocesanos y de los obispos que ejercen jurisdicción en la Iglesia Episcopal dieron su consentimiento para el recibimiento del Reverendo Fraser Wynn Lawton en calidad de obispo de la Iglesia Episcopal y su nombramiento para ser obispo asistente en la Diócesis Episcopal de Dallas, según el Canon III.12.5(b)(3)(ix). Los consentimientos recibidos fueron certificados por el Rev. Canónigo Michael Barlowe, secretario de la Convención General.
