Fifty Years Later: The State of Racism in America: videos now available of Saturday sessions

Now available for group watching and personal viewing is the on-demand video of the Saturday, November 16 sessions of Fifty Years Later: The State of Racism in America.

The videos, are available here.  To access click channel button within main player. The Saturday videos join the on-demand video of the groundbreaking public forum sponsored by The Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Mississippi 90-minute webcast from November 15.

“All of these videos are great centerpieces for congregational conversations and curriculum on this important topic,” noted Anne Rudig, Director of Communication. “These are truly resources for racism conversations and work at the local level. In addition, there is a facilitator's guide available for Friday information and other resources on the site.”

On November 16, faith leaders and educators discussed:

  • Welcoming Table for Youth and Anyone Working with Youth: LeRoy Clemons and Jackie Martin of the William Winter Institute
  • Racial Profiling: Who is Entitled to the American Dream: Merelyn Bates-Mims, the Bishop's Task Force on Racial Profiling, Diocese of Southern Ohio
  • Tools for Organizational Response to Racism: Executive Council's Committee on Anti-Racism
  • Racism Through Another Lens: "Yellow Peril", "Enemy Aliens", "Model Minority": the Rev. Dr. James Kodera

In addition to the workshops, plenary presentations include Tim Wise and Randy Testa on Racism in America Today and another session on Where do we go from here?
