Options are now being shared with dioceses and congregations that will allow them to continue to collaborate with the Office of Communication of The Episcopal Church for their publication needs.

“We are moving forward into the next stage of print communications offerings,” noted Anne Rudig, Director of Communication. “Our goal is to offer the news and format options that will fit the needs of dioceses and Episcopal readers.”

In July, two options were offered to those wishing to pursue a printing partner option: a digital format and a magazine format. Editing, layout, database management, printing services and content from Episcopal News Service will continue to be available to dioceses and parishes who wish to have this arrangement. A third format – a tabloid newspaper – is also now available.

She added, “The Episcopal Church is not eliminating print publications, nor will there be any interruption in the sharing of news with the dioceses and congregations from the Episcopal News Service in a printed form. And as always, Episcopal Life Online will continue to provide timely features and breaking news.” Episcopal Life Online is available at http://www.episcopalchurch.org/elife/

“We pledge to work closely with all printing partners to ensure that the transition from Episcopal Life, the monthly newspaper, to any of the printing partner options above will be seamless,” Rudig said.

In 2010, a new quarterly magazine will make its debut. The magazine, yet to be named, will be feature-oriented and will be a thought-leadership publication that contains in-depth, longer-format articles, along with news.

“We feel these options reflect our partners” needs and I”m hopeful they share my enthusiasm for the new possibilities and the continuing excellence of news-gathering for The Episcopal Church,” Rudig concluded.
