Communications and Branding Resources
The Office of Communications works to share news, events, and resources in compelling and accessible ways that are consistent with Episcopal Church branding. We are also pleased to offer consultation and creative services to Episcopal dioceses in the areas of website design, video production, graphic design, media relations, crisis communications, and more.
Below, find branding and writing tools to help guide your communications efforts. Check back as we add more and let us know how we can be of service.
Logos and Shields
Find links below to the official logo and shield of The Episcopal Church, as well as a churchwide Pride shield created in 2024.
The Episcopal Church shield
The shield is the official logo of the church and represents our history. It includes the red cross of St. George on a white field, symbolic of the Church of England. The blue field in the upper left features a cross of St. Andrew, symbolic of the Scotland cathedral where the first American Episcopal bishop was consecrated. The nine crosslets, or mini crosses, which comprise St. Andrew’s cross represent the nine dioceses that met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1785, to form the Protestant Episcopal Church of the U.S.A.
Each download includes the vector, PNG, reverse (knockout), horizontal, and vertical versions of the logos. To preserve the integrity of Episcopal Church branding and trademark, please do not alter the logos in any way.
Church signage
Order or update a personalized welcome sign for your church that includes the official Episcopal Church logo through our partners at Forward Movement.
