Originating in the present-day Czech Republic in the 15th century, the Moravians are one of the oldest Protestant denominations. Though there are more than 1 million members of the Moravian Church worldwide, the Moravian Church in America has about 60,000 members. Its Northern and Southern provinces are headquartered in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, respectively.

In 1997, The Episcopal Church began an official dialogue with the Moravian Church that resulted in a proposal for full communion, titled “Finding Our Delight in the Lord.” The churches entered a relationship of full communion in 2011.
