The Old Catholic Churches of the Union of Utrecht formed in 1889 after churches in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland separated from the Roman Catholic Church. The Episcopal Church entered full communion with the Old Catholic Churches of the Union of Utrecht in 1934—under the terms of the 1931 Bonn Agreement between the Anglican Communion and the Old Catholics—making this our longest-standing full communion partnership.
