As Christians, we delight in the created world that God called good. One way we demonstrate our love for God and our neighbors is to care for the physical environment in which all living things exist. We do this in many ways, whether by planting community gardens, advocating for environmentally just legislation, or working toward carbon neutrality. In all we do, we seek to be good stewards of God’s bountiful gift of creation. 
 
In 2025, The Episcopal Church began a new approach to creation care and environmental justice inspired by this 81st General Convention resolution. Episcopal dioceses and communities around the world that share watersheds, ecosystems, or environmental concerns are partnering in new eco-region networks to support local ecojustice initiatives. We look forward to growing these networks—and continuing our advocacy work—as we care and give thanks for what the Book of Common Prayer calls “this fragile earth, our island home.”
