Congregations can be an important parenting resource

Parenting is a difficult endeavor. All too often we have more questions than answers and we feel isolated in trying to decide how best to guide our children into adulthood.

The National Center for Biblical Parenting just distributed an email this week with lists of books and resources for parenting, including live seminars.

Reading all of this made me realize what a gift we have in church communities to be surrounded by people who are experiencing or have experienced the same things we are. What if we just got together and talked and shared?

I’m wondering, are any of you facilitating parenting seminars or conversations in your congregations?

If you feel comfortable, share with how it is going and how you got it started. I could see this being a valuable offering for many communities.
