Responding to the Tragedy in Newtown

November 6, 2014
Lifelong Formation

Every day I receive emails filled with resources intended to help us all sort out our feelings and reactions to the tragedy in Newtown. There’s no possible way for me to post all of them, however these seemed particularly useful for Episcopalians:

  • How to Make Sense of the Senseless, a compilation of resources from Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church
  • Gun Violence Prevention Sabbath: On January 6, the National Council of Churches is encouraging congregations around the country to offer sermons, prayers, or education forums against gun violence. Click here to register your congregation and receive a free, downloadable toolkit.
  • Call-in Day Against Gun Violence: The interfaith community will join together in early January to host a call-in day to legislators, urging them to address gun violence. Click here to sign up to receive information about this important advocacy action.

Please also post in the comments any resources or information you believe should be shared with Episcopalians across the country.
