Welcome to GC80 Daily Updates from the Office of Public Affairs, morning and evening roundups of news, events, and resources related to the 80th General Convention, July 8-11 in Baltimore.

News
The 80th General Convention of The Episcopal Church began this morning. A pre-recorded sermon by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was shared in the House of Bishops and House of Deputies during Opening Eucharist services.

Legislative sessions in the House of Deputies and House of Bishops took place in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Following the afternoon session, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry took part in a procession and prayer vigil led by Bishops United Against Gun Violence at the site of a fatal shooting this week in downtown Baltimore.

The #GC80 Daily Show, produced by the Office of Communication, showcases the good work of Episcopal leaders and initiatives from around the church. Episodes are released each day on the Media Hub and included in these updates. Tonight’s episode features the Rev. Chris McNabb, missioner for Neighbor to Neighbor, a program of Episcopal Migration Ministries.
