  • Racial healing to top agenda as Episcopalians converge on Baltimore for their 80th churchwide convention

    “The Most Rev. Michael Curry, once a priest in West Baltimore, is the church’s first African American presiding bishop and 27th bishop overall. . . .’We can’t do all the things we had planned on doing. But we’ve got some things that will help people go and learn about the work that’s going on in the diocese and Baltimore,’ said Curry, who described his former home as ‘a great American city.'”

#GC80 Daily Show

The #GC80 Daily Show, produced by the Office of Communication, showcases the good work of Episcopal leaders and initiatives from around the church. Episodes will be released each day on the Media Hub and included in these updates. Today’s episode features the Rev. Lydia Bucklin, canon to the ordinary for discipleship & vitality for the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Michigan, and project director at Virginia Theological Seminary, talking about “Wild Church.”

     Sunday, July 10
  • 8:30-10 a.m.: Sunday Eucharist; sermon by Bishop Eugene Sutton, Episcopal Diocese of Maryland
  • 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Legislative Session
  • 2:30-5:30 p.m.: Legislative Session (includes Joint Standing Committee on Program, Budget and Finance budget presentation to a joint session of the House of Bishops and House of Deputies)
  • 7:30-9:30 p.m.: Legislative Session (as needed)
  • TBD: Election of next vice president of the House of Deputies
