Episcopal Church Policy Priorities for COP30
The Episcopal Church is committed to growing relationships across the human family and with all of God’s creation. Our commitment to the call of Jesus has led us to engage in mitigation and rightsizing our lives as individuals and in our ministries, standing with frontline communities in laboring for environmental justice, ending environmental racism, and finding a swift and just solution to the climate crisis.
The church’s COP30 policy priorities reflect these values and include:
- Limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels
- Advocating for multilateral funding mechanisms that support transition away from fossil fuels.
- Encouraging a just transition toward renewable energy sources
